Why didn't you give me a beautiful voice Lord? Why didn't you call me to be a singer or a minister in praise and worship? Everybody loves beautiful voices, music and instruments. Those beautiful sounds that often bring the presence of your Holy Spirit. Oh yes, the singers are loved, followed and admired much. Many just love to hang around them, always include them, and even brag a bit to know them and love to claim to be their friends. But not me, nope, certainly not me.
For me You give Isaiah 58:1: Cry aloud, spare not, lift your voice like a shofar. Tell My people their transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins. You called me to speak the hard things. To speak truth. Yet every time I do I lose associates, friends and sometimes family. I think I understand now what the Scripture means, "The truth shall set you free." Free from my friends, family and fellowship because they stay away in droves, by the thousands even.
I can tell you, if you want to be reeeaaally unpopular then just start speaking to folks about their transgressions and sins. Don't even mention a church leader or pastor. WOE!!
